Storing Tea
Home : Articles : Storing Tea

It is important to store your tea properly, whether it is tea bags or loose tea. Tea that isn't stored or packaged properly will easily absorb odours and moisture, which in turn will change the taste. To avoid this please make sure to store your tea in a cool dry place, preferably a tin which is air tight. It is also a good idea to make sure that your tea is not exposed to direct sunlight, this will only make it dry out and degrade the taste.

Packaging

The original blend of Earl Grey tea was for a man called Charles Grey (Second Earl), who was a British diplomat on a mission to China. Legend has it that he was given the recipe by a local Mandarin Chinese friend.

It is essential that tea is packaged properly, otherwise it may become exposed to the environment for long periods of time and lose it's flavour. Barry's tea is well packaged to ensure the tea remains in peak condition. All our packet tea such as Gold Blend Loose Tea and Irish Breakfast Tea is foil-wrapped to ensure your tea is delivered in top condition.
