Thick and wholesome, the English Muffin Bread has a lovely chewy consistency that is gorgeous when toasted!

Recipe Ingredients

  • 2oz Dry Yeast
  • 6 cups Bread Flour
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 2 tbl Cornmeal
  • 1 tbl White Sugar
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda

How To Make

  1. Add the milk and water to a heated saucepan and let it heat up. At the same time, lightly grease 2 loaf pans and sprinkle generously with cornmeal.
  2. Using a large bowl, mix together 3 cups of flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and yeast. Stir the milk into the mixture and stir well.
  3. Whilst stirring add the remainder of the flour until it reaches a dough and spoon into the loaf pans.
  4. Cover the pans and let it rise for 3/4 hour.
  5. Move into a preheated over at 200 degrees Celcius and let it bake for about 25 / 30 minutes.
